Activating Seeds & Nuts

TURNING ON THE HEALING POWER OF THE SEED

In order to activate seeds and nuts all we need to do is soak them in water for a few hours. What an easy way to tap into the healing properties of the seed.

When the seed absorbs the water a series of processes begin:

- Anti-nutrients are dis-activated

- Predigestion of amino acids occurs

- Minerals and vitamins are synthesised.

In nature, a seed or nut normally gets enough moisture from rain to wash off the acids and enzyme inhibitors so it can germinate and produce a plant. By soaking nuts and seeds before you eat them, you imitate nature by neutralising these growth inhibitors, releasing the natural enzymes and vitality within them.

By soaking nuts and seeds you minimise or eliminate the nutritional inhibitors and other toxic substances as they are absorbed into the water. Without the inhibitors and toxic substances, the nutrients of the nuts and seeds are more readily available for absorption.

In order to activate the seeds and nuts, use a glass jar or a good quality stainless steel jar and add clean drinking water. Use two to three times the amount of water to seeds that you are using and fully soak for at least 8 hours. To conclude the process, remove the seeds from the water and wash them thoroughly.

The activated and well drained seeds can last up to 5 days in the fridge.

*When using cashews, you only need to soak them for 4 to 5 hours. Any longer often makes the nuts taste a bit bitter.
